Eat & Drink
A landmark eatery for more than 60 years
Boiled lobster with drawn butter has been Barnacle Billy's calling card since they opened their doors in 1961. Generations of Ogunquit and Perkins Cove visitors have returned year after year making this landmark their touchstone for quintessential Maine coastal fare. So much so it is kind of a rite of passage, “I ate my first “Billy's” lobster when I turned four!” Run by generations of the Tower family, founded by the cove legend, the late Billy Tower and his wife Bunny, and then by their children and their own children.

Rich clam chowder, Maine lobster rolls, hot lobster sauté, steamed clams, crab salad rolls or plates, burgers, salads, and hot dogs are ever-popular lunch and dinner favorites. Billy’s signature beverage? Their Rum Punch, of course. Speaking of punch, a Myers rum floater is an optional add-on for those in a festive spirit!

More "Billy's" to love
The companion restaurant to the original Barnacle Billy’s in Perkins Cove, Barnacle Billy’s Etc. is a perennial favorite of Ogunquit visitors. Described as, “truly a down east experience,” “Barnacle Billy’s Etc. offers beautiful views of the back of Perkins Cove so diners can enjoy watching sloops, fishing vessels, and tour boats return to their moorings from sea. Beautiful heirloom gardens and a sweeping lawn surround the outdoor patio. Indoors a large stone hearth crackles and pops as the fire warms the dining room on cooler days and evenings.
This location offers full table service for a more leisurely dining experience. While seafood lovers can indulge on classic Atlantic fare, such as steamed mussels, creamy fish chowder with chunks of fresh haddock, fried clams, fried scallops, surf & turf, and Atlantic swordfish, landlubbers can enjoy chargrilled steaks, grilled chicken, and burgers. Desserts include homemade whoopie pies, Maine blueberry pie, and decadent fudge cake. Visitors can take home cool “Billy’s” swag that is sure to be recognized all over the country.
Smoothies and juices sweeten 'The Cove'
New to Perkins Cove in 2022, The Juice Jar is a juice lover's delight. This locally owned juice bar serves cold pressed juices, smoothies, coffee drinks, and acai bowls with combinations that are fresh and inspired.
Hot coffee beverages include favorites like lattes, matcha latte, hot chocolate, and shaken espresso. Lobster fresh off the boat
Footbridge Lobster's is a bright red lobster shanty in Perkins Cove. Tucked in just across from the famed wooden drawbridge, they offer delicious take away lobster and seafood eats that scream “Maine.” In fact, the founder, Chris Eager, is a lobsterman right out of Badger's Island in Kittery, Maine. They sell a lobster that is guaranteed to be “right off the boat,” and always fresh, never frozen.

The favorite is their mouthwatering grande 5-ounce Maine lobster roll, served plain, with mayo or with melted butter. Other lobster specialties like their Maine Lobster BLT, Lobster Grilled Cheese, Lobster Egg And Cheese Sandwich, and Lobster Cocktail ensure you can get your fix while meandering throughout Perkins Cove, over the drawbridge or along The Marginal Way. If fried seafood makes your mouth water, Footbridge Lobster also offers classics like fried haddock, fried clams, fried scallops and shrimp ― ooh la la. And hearty burgers, grilled cheese sammies, and grilled hot dogs will delight the landlubber in the group.
